My research concerns different aspects of non-equilibrium systems. On the one hand I study models with very simple non-equilibrium behavior and a chaotic underlying dynamics and try to understand the connection between this chaotic and microscopic dynamic and the macroscopic behavior. On the other hand I am also interest in the macroscopic description of systems under constrains such as stressed materials and the dynamics of fractures and dislocations, which they display.
